Poshtik Roti

 

INGREDIENTS (1 serving)

    • Whole Wheat Flour/Atta : ½ bowl
    • Bengal Gram Flour/Besan : ½ bowl
    • Chopped Spinach: ½ bowl
    • Chopped Coriander: 1 tsp
    • Cumin Seeds Roasted: 1/8 tsp
    • Chilli Powder: to taste
    • Black Pepper Powder: to taste
    • Salt: to taste
METHOD OF PREPARATION
    • Wash and chop spinach.
    • Mix besan, atta, salt, chopped spinach, chilli powder, cumin seeds, black pepper powder and make a soft dough using water.
    • Now make a ball of dough, roll it into fairly thin rounds and place it on the medium hot tawa/griddle.
    • When brown spots are formed on both sides of the roti then remove it from the tawa/ griddle and serve hot.

  • Rotis are low cost source of energy giving foods.
  • Can be consumed in lunch or dinner with sabzi, dal or raita.
  • Treasure house of vitamins and minerals.
  • Bengal gram flour is a good source of protein, fiber and iron and spinach is a good source of Vitamin A, C and K and minerals such as magnesium, iron and manganese.
  • Can be eaten by patients having hypertension, diabetes or obesity.
