Poshtik Roti
INGREDIENTS (1 serving)
- Whole Wheat Flour/Atta : ½ bowl
- Bengal Gram Flour/Besan : ½ bowl
- Chopped Spinach: ½ bowl
- Chopped Coriander: 1 tsp
- Cumin Seeds Roasted: 1/8 tsp
- Chilli Powder: to taste
- Black Pepper Powder: to taste
- Salt: to taste
METHOD OF PREPARATION
- Wash and chop spinach.
- Mix besan, atta, salt, chopped spinach, chilli powder, cumin seeds, black pepper powder and make a soft dough using water.
- Now make a ball of dough, roll it into fairly thin rounds and place it on the medium hot tawa/griddle.
- When brown spots are formed on both sides of the roti then remove it from the tawa/ griddle and serve hot.
NUTRINOTES
- Rotis are low cost source of energy giving foods.
- Can be consumed in lunch or dinner with sabzi, dal or raita.
- Treasure house of vitamins and minerals.
- Bengal gram flour is a good source of protein, fiber and iron and spinach is a good source of Vitamin A, C and K and minerals such as magnesium, iron and manganese.
- Can be eaten by patients having hypertension, diabetes or obesity.
